Activities

Often referred to “the island time forgot”, Salt Cay offers activities for guests of all ages. Salt Cay is the most remote and secluded of the islands in the Turks and Caicos islands. We have 60 friendly full time residents, rich Caribbean heritage and Caribbean culture

Scuba diving/Snorkeling

Salt Cay sits behind the third largest barrier reef in the world and offers some of the best wall diving just a few meters off shore. The reefs are still pristine, teaming with fish and boasting spectacular corals and sponges. An 18 th century British war ship(rated in the top ten wreck dives internationally)is an excellent site for diving and snorkeling.

Salt Cay has numerous sites for snorkeling right from shore, including Point pleasant,Lighthouse bluff, South cemetery and Deane's dock( great night snorkel). You can also go to nearby uninhabited islands for excellent snorkeling and exploring.

Whale Watching

January through March is migration time for the magnificent Humpback whales. Salt Cay is one of the last places in the world you can actually snorkel with the whales. Some people prefer to experience the beauty of the whales from the comfort of the boat or view the dolphins and whales from the deck at the Tradewinds.Salt Cay is considered “Whale Headquarters”, as the island sits directly in the Columbus passage, the migratory route of the whales on their way to the Silver Banks.
